Run 4 Wales 10K Series Launched

ABP Newport Marathon Festival | NEWPORT, WALES

The Run 4 Wales 10K Series is here to kick off a new era of distance running in Wales.

A brand new season ticket has gone on sale to offer discounted entry to a trio of unique events in three of South Wales’ most iconic settings. A total of 1,000 discounted tickets are available priced at £59 (a £10 saving versus entering each race individually), but runners will have to move fast to take advantage of this innovative offer.

Discounted season tickets are expected to sell-out with more than 1,000 runners already pre-registered to save £10 across the Brecon Carreg Cardiff Bay RunABP Newport Wales 10K and Brecon Carreg Barry Island 10K in 2018.

Run 4 Wales Chief Executive Matt Newman said: “Our aim at Run 4 Wales is to deliver world-class running events while providing a platform for people to stay active and healthy. We hope our new Run 4 Wales 10K Series can inspire people of all ages and abilities to take-up running, while giving regular runners at Run 4 Wales events the chance to challenge themselves in the new year for a discounted price.

“The Brecon Carreg Cardiff Bay Run is now one of Wales’ largest 10K races, and we hope the ABP Newport Wales 10K and Brecon Carreg Barry Island 10K will become unmissable events on the Welsh sporting calendar.”

The popular Brecon Carreg Cardiff Bay Run kick off the Run 4 Wales 10K Series on 25 March, 2018, when around 6,000 competitors will take on a flat, fast and family friendly course around Cardiff’s historic Bay.

Season ticket holders can then be a part of history at the inaugural ABP Newport Wales Marathon. The ABP Newport Wales 10K will give runners a taste of Wales’ new premier marathon event on a course including some of the city’s most recognisable landmarks without taking on the gruelling 26.2-mile distance of the marathon race.

Another brand-new event completes the final leg of the series on August 5, 2018. Sun, sea and sand will provide the backdrop to the Brecon Carreg Barry Island 10K next summer. Forming part of the popular Barry Island Weekenders programme, it will bring a festival of running to the popular seaside resort on fully closed roads with charity fundraising, summertime fun and fancy dress at its heart.

Runners taking part in two or more of the events will be eligible to win generous overall series prizes.

Season tickets are now available but with only 1,000 are available, are expected to sell out fast. Sign up as soon as possible if you’d like to take advantage of the discounted price!
