Monmouthshire Building Society are delighted to once again act as an official partner for the Newport Marathon and 10k.
As a regional Building Society, based in Newport, we’re passionate about supporting our local communities. We do this through sponsorship of events like this one but also through our branching into community initiatives, which put our colleagues, members and our communities at the heart of everything we do.
Branch Sponsorship
Our branch sponsorship fund provides sponsorship to grassroots groups and organisations that are making a difference in their community. Groups are encouraged to apply for sponsorship at their local Monmouthshire Building Society branch, where the branch team will assess each application.
Charitable Foundation

Our Colleague in the Community initiative
We’re encouraging and supporting our colleagues to volunteer their time to the community groups and charities that matter to them through our Colleague in the Community initiative.
By sharing our skills, time, and knowledge with others we hope to benefit our communities and increase our collective sense of wellbeing.

Our Charity Partnership
The Society has committed to a Charity Partnership with Shelter Cymru for the next five years by developing strategic support to help prevent the many people using its services from entering a housing crisis.
Our colleagues and members fundraise throughout the year through various activities, including the Newport Marathon. This year we have 18 colleagues running either the Marathon or the 10K, raising money for Shelter Cymru.
