ABP
TITLE PARTNER
Associated British Ports (ABP) operate five ports in South Wales; Newport, Cardiff, Barry, Port Talbot and Swansea. These ports are important gateways for trade and also support major manufacturing on sites contiguous to the ports. The ports contribute £1.4 billion to the UK economy every year; £1 billion of which stays in Wales.
ABP South Wales acts as the Port Owner, Port Operator, and also the Statutory Harbour Authority across it’s five ports. In 2016 the five ABP South Wales ports handled 12.5 million tonnes of cargo and made significant investments into operational equipment, warehousing, and renewable energy. The 12.5 million tonnes of cargo that passed through the ports included a variety of both traditional and emerging sectors. Through these activates, ABP South Wales supports 15,000 jobs in Wales and 6,000 jobs elsewhere in the UK.
ABP is backed by investment in modern facilities and equipment, and support by experienced employees. Our investment is designed to respond to the needs of our customers whose businesses rely on our ports for access to international and, in some cases, domestic markets.
