ABP Newport Wales Marathon 2018 | NEWPORT, WALES

On Sunday 29th April the inaugural ABP Newport Wales Marathon & 10K will welcome over 10,000 runners to the city of Newport – with marathoners from as far afield as Canada, Algeria and Japan due to attend.

This major sporting event is set to generate an economic impact of £1.1 million into the local economy, showcase the city’s regenerated city-centre and raise up to £1 million for good causes.

Marathon, 10K and Family Mile races are set to kick off from 9am – with activity and entertainment focused around a race village by the Riverfront Theatre.

To facilitate the safe passage of participants, it will be necessary to implement road closures along the route. Residents and businesses along the route will be written to with full details.

Please allow extra time when travelling on race day, plan your route in advance and be aware of potentially congested areas.

Detailed road closure maps, with timings, are available below. Open access routes (indicated in green) will be open at all times during the day. Please aim for these when navigating around the city. Be careful in areas of shared road use (as indicated on the map). This is where the race route directly meets open roads.
