The ABP Newport 10K will be taking place as part of the ABP Newport Marathon Festival on Sunday 13 April and entries will soon be going live.
Registrations to the event will be launched on Thursday 28 November and runners are being encouraged to pre-register their interest now.
Those who do so will be first to hear when the sale is starting and receive priority access to enter before everyone else – meaning they’ll have the chance to secure one of a limited number of early bird entries.
There are 500 early bird spaces up for grabs at £28 with general entry then rising to £32, or £30 for affiliated athletes.
Once again, the Newport 10K will also be forming part of the Run 4 Wales 10K Series. Runners who want to take part in several of the races can also save in doing so.
When entries launch on Thursday 28 November there will also be 1,000 10K Series Bundle Offers to secure. Savings of up to £18 are available for those looking to enter two or more races in the series.
However, for those who don’t want to wait until the official launch date for general entry they can enter now to run as a fundraiser for Mind/Mind in Gwent.
Mind and Mind in Gwent are this year’s lead charity partner of the ABP Newport Marathon Festival.
Both charities work to ensure no one has to face a mental health problem alone. While Mind provides support and campaigns for mental health across England and Wales, Mind in Gwent focusses on working in providing support specifically within the communities across Newport, Monmouthshire, Torfaen and Blaenau Gwent. But it’s only through incredible fundraisers and donations that it’s able to help.
Runners who’d like to run the 10K for them can sign up for just £6 when agreeing to raise £250 for the charities.
Joanne Jeffreys, Community Fundraising Coordinator at Mind in Gwent, said: “We’re thrilled to partner with Mind at the ABP Newport Marathon Festival in April 2025, and we’re especially excited about the launch of the 10k race! Whether you’re ready to tackle the marathon, half marathon, or the 10k, there’s a running challenge for everyone.
“By taking up one of our charity places, you’ll be supporting both Mind in Gwent and Mind, helping us provide vital mental health services and ensuring no one has to face a mental health problem alone. Race entries are now open – join us, make a difference, and be part of something truly special!”
Matt Newman, Chief Executive at Run 4 Wales, added: “We’re excited to launch the ABP Newport 10K alongside the marathon and half marathon distance in what will be a really exciting day of running in the city.
“The event is famed for its fast and flat course which is ideal for those looking to secure a PB in the distance.”
